Hi all I’ve thought about this all day today and decided that I need to get this out into the open.
I have been accused by Margret Teta Singleton and Jen Blausey of copying their video tutorials apparently for over a year and making a “cheap imitation”.
However in the same statement they say “they do not utilise the same programme as me” so a slight contradiction there!
They have also intimated that I seek to ” hog the spotlight” ( a little childish I think) and have said that their members are not allowed to recommend my YouTube channel in their group.
These accusations have been posted in their closed Facebook group “ScanNCut, Canvas and Scal Help”
I have no way of defending myself in there publicly, their post has now been removed.
However I have a copy of the full statement written by Jen Blausey and all the subsequent replies, accusations and comments by Margret Teta Singleton and others.
MTS last year was a member of a Facebook group I co admin, she frequently posted comments advising our members to join her private group and they would be able to have access to her tutorials.
I made several comments at the time that I have video tutorials on YouTube which are freely available to anyone, she clearly didn’t like my comments.
According to Youtube Jen Balusey has had a channel for 3 months.
I wish to clarify
I have never been a member of any group, blog, club, association etc etc that Margret Teta Singleton runs or has run.
I have never seen or watched a video by her, I have no need to.
I couldn’t possibly have been copying videos for over a year from someone who has only been on YT for 3 months.
I do not seek to hog anything, I understand from what I am told frequently that many Brother dealers around the world know of and recommend my videos and blog.
Both Brother.com and Brother ScanNCut UK reccommend my video tutorials On their Facebook pages as well, all of which I think is a great compliment.
I constantly receive messages of thanks via FB, YT, Private Messages and my blog and have been happy to provide help and cutting files freely and will continue to do so and if that upsets the few then that is their problem, not mine.
I have over 3500 youtube subscribers in over 60 countries

1,070,079 minutes of watched video
I think those statistics speak for themselves.
All I wish to add is if you watch my videos and tutorials and find them helpful then that is great, if not, no problem.
If you use Facebook please do not post any questions about them in any other Facebook group other than ScanNCut N Inspire (If you are a member) which is our group, that way you cannot upset them further.

I’m sorry that you have had to put up with this vitriolic outburst from these people. I know them both from the FB groups I belong to but io will be ousting myself from the groups they are associated with now as I don’t believe anyone had the right to tell people what they should watch, comment on, use etc.
the world is big enough for everyone and no one has a right to say those things.
I’m sorry you’ve had to put up with this and hope you don’t let it impact on your great help to people that you give freely and generously. Keep your chin up. I think they might find a few less people in their groups from now on xxxx
Hi Ashley…….I cant believe how bad these 2 lady’s look……I thought the playground was for children not grown ups…… I like every one else would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your help……I had never heard of svg or usb sticks,,,,,,but now with all your help I can use my scanncut not half as good as you but I am still learning……I watch your video’s and if not sure go back over it till the penny drops…….take no notice of the lady’s who call…..remember the saying sticks and stone and you are far better than them……why do they have a closed membership unlike you who wants to help every one……
thank you once again love all you do ……all I can say is keep up the good work and don’t stop what you are doing because of petty minded people who don’t want to help every one ……they are the one’s with egg on there faces……

I for one would like to thank you for all you do for us keep up the good work and I’ve been on that group just recently signed up and it was funny how I thought I don’t like this group as much as the other one lol. So I will just unjoin don’t want to mess with that mentality. You are inspiration to me thank you again.
I agree with Pam Mainwaring’s sentiments. Please keep making your videos and try to ignore their chatter. Your videos are excellent and so helpful. How childish of them. There is room for everyone on the internet – it doesn’t have to be a competition.

I’m sure that your reputation is still in tact. I wouldn’t let this worry you in any way but I’m glad you got it out and I’m sure all your followers will still be there for you and give you support for all your help so far and keep up the good work Ash. I’ll still be following you for a long time.
First I want to thank everyone for all the kind comments and support you have given Ashley. I am truly blessed to have her join Inspire over a year ago and contributed to our group each Sunday, wonderful videos for all of us to learn. She has been an inspiration to all of us, day in and day out. She does take the time to respond to those in dire need of help when she can. She has a busy life of her own taking care of her family and to take the time out each week to provide us a new learning video tells a lot about her…she truly cares about each of her followers.

Ashley, thank you for explaining what you have been going through. As others have said, we were all new to the SNC once, and looking for help in whatever format we could find. I have been using cutters for many years (like you I had a CraftRobo), and the differences to the new ScanNCut threw me for a while. Your blog, YouTube videos and helpful answers to any question on the FB ScanVCut users Help Each Other have allowed me the opportunity to see the possibilities with this machine. I do not understand how someone can claim copyright to a process – some people learn with a picture, some learn with a written instruction – in just the same way some people may not understand one person’s way of doing something, but it will click in their head when someone else explains it. I used to belong to one of the groups in question – funnily enough I did not enjoy it’s atmosphere and I left a few weeks ago.
Please continue to give us more tutorials and videos. There is room in the world for both person’s points of view, but to open this up for public debate before talking to you about it seems to me to be very childish. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK ASHLEY! and thank you for all you do.

You know what you do is good… we all appreciate the things you do…from the tutorials to the free files… I was a member of one of MTS group for awhile, and the grammar was horrible and the tuts useless…. Sleep well at night, because the good lord knows, and that is all that matters… although we all comment here, how wonderful you are, it is not necessary, because the one that needs to know….knows ;-)…. Thanks so much, really…. from the bottom of my heart…. You have made crafting fun… I hate to see the drama stuff on FB, because I go there as an escape, and cant believe that adults could act this way… sometimes I think some are raised in a jungle by wild animals…. Yikes… I dont understand why people have to be so mean… anyways… Like I said, you are wonderful… and I, as well as I am sure many others, appreciate all you have done… Thanks again Ashley… 🙂

Ashley I am so sad to read about the way you have been treated, I was a member of said group but no more I will not be part of something which is supposedly run by adults who can behave in this way, in my book Good Riddance etc.

What a very unpleasant experience for you! I had fallen out of love with my scn but thanks to your help and advice, now use it more than ever. Keep up the good work! I was a member of their group for a short period of time last year but didn’t find it very useful and so left fairly quickly. Please don’t let them get you down.

Ashley you can hold your head up high, I am sorry you are having to deal with ###p like this. But I think you can see the support you are getting because you went out of your way to help loads of new, ,hesitant scan and cut newbies. What a nasty piece of work this lady is. Glad I don’t know her or have anything to do with her. Her reply didn’t make much sense but, I just couldn’t be bothered with anyone like that as I have morals and I think you do an amazing job at what you do.

OH M G.!! How pathetic are they. !! Jealousy is a horrible thing.
I got my scan n cut last year when they were launched by create and craft, joined several facebook pages and yahoo groups wanting to learn as much as possible and hopefully in return share from my experiences. I joined the other group from which one of the ladies hosts and can asure you her so called tutorials are nothing like yours. I will be leaving that group don’t want to associat with people like that.
I have learnt so much from your videos for SNC also the ones using inkscape. I have had inkscape for several years and have never really gotten to grips with it untill watching your BRILL videos
These people are nasty and jealous because they feel threatened by your wonderful talent of explaining things so simply, clearly and concisly.
I think I can safetly say That we Love you Ashely for all the help and inspiration you give us, ignore these silly upthemselves people.
