Our 1st Makers Meet Up Facebook Live

Hi everyone so on Wednesday night we did our first Makers meet up Facebook live, we had a few questions relating to mats on the CM machine that had been submitted prior to our live, so we tried to address those in the live stream, we then just did a few quick demonstrations on the SDX 2200 Disney machine showing how to

  • Scan a stamped image and cut it out with an outline border
  • Draw a pre installed design
  • Cut a pre installed 3D design

The recording of the live stream is here

We are hoping to do regular lives so if you have any questions or suggestions please let me know and I will pass the information onto the Makers Team and we will see what we can do.

Finally, I would just like to wish everyone in the US and Canada a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving weekend.

ScanNCut How to get the most cut shapes from a piece of card any size

Dont forget to use this months host code when you check out in my online shop, to get an extra thank you treat from me.

So in this video I am going back to basics again and perhaps give a refresher to anyone who has forgotten about this feature on the scanncut.

This will work with any model machine. I was mass producing some cards and needed a large quantity of circles which I wanted to cut from UK A4 card which is 8.25 x 11.75.

So in this video I show you how to adjust your cut area to fit any size card and get the most shapes cut from it with minimal waste.

This is what I made, if you don’t have the ScanNCut machine I’ve listed Stampin Up punches in the supply list for you.

You can purchase all the supplies from my online shop, these are direct links.

How To Use A ScanNCut And Make Your First Cuts

Dont forget to use this months host code when you check out in my online shop, to get an extra thank you treat from me.

So if you follow my blog you will know that recently I had the pleasure of working with the team from Makers at the NEC Birmingham, where they were launching the sale of the new ScanNCut SDX2200 disney cutting machine which is exclusive to them.

Over the two days that I was there I got to meet some lovely crafters, who were either buying the new machine or who already owned a previous model.

A reoccurring theme from talking to so many of them was that they had a CM model machine but they were scared to use it. Some told me it hadn’t even come out of the box, some told me it was out of the box but had not been used for years.

These machine are expensive and deserve more that being left in a box or on a shelf untouched!

So with that in mind I tried to encourage as many of them as possible to go home and have a go, but I thought I would make a video to show people what the machine icons and features are and walk people through making their first cuts and a simple project.

This is what I am showing how to make and its all done directly on the ScanNCut machine and made from inbuilt simple shapes.

If you follow the video step by step you can make this yourselves, honest.

How to use a scanncut and make your first cuts

I am going to make a few more videos, please make sure you are subscribed to my Youtube channel so you don’t miss them.

The next one will hopefully be about using the test cut facility and setting your blade depth and cutting pressure.
