Ok I have not crafted for ages using my Pazzles I am still waiting for Pazzles to produce software that I can use with my Apple iMac. but I have the software installed on a windows laptop so Ive had a bit of a play today.
The bird and swirl are a file I created some time ago I have used the bird on a quilt I made last year, so I made him bigger. I applied heat n bond ultra to my fabric and then cut out the design with my Pazzles I used the stiffened fabric setting in the control panel but I upped my pressure. All I had to do them was peel off the backing from the heat n bond and iron it onto the oven cloth. I used a blanket stitch setting on my sewing machine for decoration. They look different colours but the first one was taken when the sun was shining, the second one is the true colour.
So at weekend I spent some time cleaning out my sewing machine and today I decided I would clean one of my mats that I use with my Pazzles electronic cutting machine.
The first photo shows the mat before I had done anything to it.
The second photo shows the mat after I had sprayed it with Crafters Companion Stick Away, this products is great it loosens all the build up of gunk on the mat so that you can scrape it clean.
The final photo shows the mat with masking tape all around the edges and it has been sprayed with Crafters Companion Stick n Spray reposition-able adhesive, which has been left for a short while and once I remove the masking tape I will have a more or less new mat to start using again for my projects. Just look how clean and new it looks.
Dont think once your mat is old you have to throw it away just bring them back to life for a while longer.
I wanted to make a smash type book/junk journal for a friend for Christmas but she is into all things vintage and althought I like some of the old vintage things its not really my style so I had to take my time and choose my supplies carefully. I chose scrapbook paper from a K & Co stack, Ive added quotes, sayings, pockets and envelopes, velum and some plain paper. I have also used some of the Tim Holts distress inks to edge all of the papers.
I wanted to keep the front of my book fairly simple so I have added some dark brown ribbon an old key I had and I made a crochet flower from a you tube video as an embellishment. I cut the word Journal on my Pazzles inspiration cutter.
I have not done any crochet for many many years so I had to look on youtube for some help, I watched a few different videos so one of the photos shows my attempts but in the end I went with a 5 petal flower which can be found Here this was a recommendation from someone on a forum I use.
OMG I cannot say how pleased I am with how this has turned out. Its been a slow process but so rewarding.
Here are some photos, I couldnt wait until tomorrow for the daylight, so these have just been taken under electric light but you should be able to see how it turned out.
I must also say that this tutorial I found on youtube for doing mitred border corners is the best I have ever found heres the link. I have perfect mitred corners.
Well I am getting on with my quilting now for this patchwork quilt. Its a slow process but hopefully it will be worth while when its finished.
Here are a couple of photos of the appliqué and some of the freehand machine quilting Ive done so far.
I will post a full photo when its all done.
I have been thinking about making a quilt for my daughter for some time and inspired by Kirsty’s vintage home programme recently where one couple made a quilt I decided to buy some fabric and have a go.
I have made small quilts before but this is for her bed this is it so far, all the fabric is sewn and Ive add some appliqué from the same fabric which I cut on my Pazzles Inspiration electronic cutter.
Its a chevron design with diamonds.
Just saying hi as I haven’t posted a lot lately, Ive been busy with one thing or another.
Anyway a little girl we know is 2 tomorrow and she loves Peppa Pig so this is a card I have made for her.
I found an image and made it into a cutting file for the Pazzles, all those tiny bits of card to stick down!
