Name & Hide Layers In Canvas Workspace for Computer

My Stampin Up Monthly Host Code is a way for me to reward anyone who places a qualifying order with me if enough people use it in the month. So please use the correct code at checkout in online shop (it changes on the 1st of every month)

Hi everyone did you know you can rename and hide layers when working in ScanNCut Canvas Workspace for Computer, In todays quick tip video I am going to show you how.

You may wonder why you would need to do this so I will try and explain, sometimes we have several elements on our screen mat and things start to get in the way or it gets cluttered looking and we can get overwhelmed, so being able to hide elements temporarily and being able to name layers so we can identify shapes on our mat just makes our lives easier.

My quick tip video is here I hope it helps.

Toiletry Bag

So Hannah asked if i could make her a toiletry bag and personalise it with her name.

I used what I had in my stash, so here it is it has a waterproof lining and the only piece of heat transfer product I could find was this iron on pink flock which I must have had for at least 10yrs.

I found a font on Dafont called “Hello Honey” opened it in Canvas Workspace for PC, sized it to fit my piece of flock and welded it, because I haven’t used this font before and I only had once chance to get this right I added an offset of 0.04 to my text, deleted the original text and used the offset text. Its a little trick Ive used in the past to thicken up fonts if I’m unsure of how something will cut.

I even remembered to mirror the text!

I added a test cut to check it would cut OK and it cut perfectly with the auto blade technology on the SDX2200D with a “half cut” setting.

I think it turned out fine and she likes it so that makes me happy.

This project was a request from someone on Youtube, She wanted to know how to make the foiled table placeholder which is a free project in Canvas Workspace for web and turn it into a decorative label.

I hope I have understood what she wanted, but if not you will learn how to take a project in Canvas and make it into something different.

The original project is the blue placeholder you can see here, and Ive made it into the decorative label shape underneath. If you want to know how, please see the video below.

Shapes On Path Scrapbook Layout

Good morning everyone I hope you are all keeping safe and well.

As you know Ive been working with the new Path feature in Canvas Workspace for PC recently.

A viewer commented that she didn’t know how she would use the function, but was happy to know how to do it, that got me thinking and I decided to step out of my comfort zone and do something different.

So I made my Saru’s “E” flower design bigger and in last nights Youtube live I made a scrapbook page.

As well as cutting the flower shape from card, I used the fit to path feature to shape my “stay home” words and I cut them in vinyl. I used the pen tool to draw the “2020” on a circle which I then cut.

I also used the background scan and added a circle over my photograph and cut that too, so many procesess used.

I added a little hand dashed line using a journaling pen which yes, I could have been done by the machine but It was a last minute thought so I did it by hand.

Anyway I hope you like it the “Youtube live”, was recorded so if you missed it, it is on my Youtube channel in the “live” playlist.
